Well this is my youngest daughter Anna Grace, at the time 8 months, getting a haircut with Ringo at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel Salon in Hong Kong.  Both Anna Grace, 3 years old now, and her sister Mary, 10 months,  got their first haircut by my mom while they were sleeping.  My girls were born with more than a full head of hair.  They seriously needed a hair clip from birth.  I hate having their hair cut.  I know it grows back but nonetheless, I don’t like doing it.  A few nights ago I caught a glimpse of my beautiful 3 year old running around the house and an image popped in my head of Ruby Sue, Clark Griswald’s niece in Christmas Vacation.  If you haven’t seen this, your Christmas hasn’t been complete.  I’m pretty sure Ruby Sue never had a haircut or a hairbrush for that matter.  After dinner I cut 5 inches!!!  It would have been less if it weren’t for my husband in the background taunting me to really go for it.  Well we gave her sparkling apple juice, a bowl of marshmallows and a plastic garbage bag for her drape.  Since the haircut I’ve bought some proper scissors but I had to use a very heavy pair of dressmaker shears.  Its done; just don’t look too carefully.

Sparkling Apple Juice and Marshmallows!  Cheers!

This is a picture of sister Mary, 3 days old.  I couldn’t resist; I put a bow in her hair just long enough to snap a picture.  This might explain why I have a thing for hairbows.  Click on Mary to check out my bows!
